BARRE – Constance R. "Connie" Corke, 64, died unexpectedly in her home June 17, 2022. She was born March 23, 1958 in Albion to Arnold and Irene (Brown) Taylor and was a life-long resident of this area.

Connie was a 25-plus year member of the Barre Fire Company and the Ladies Auxiliary having held the office of Vice President on several occasions. She was also a former driver for COVA, served as an Orleans County Auxiliary Police Officer, and worked as a Home Health Aide for CDR. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years Larry; her son, Shawn (Melissa) Corke of Albion; her daughter, Stephanie Corke of Albion; her grandchildren, Olivia, Callen, Dallas, Lilliana, Rylee as well as several brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, 21 West Avenue-Albion, Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. followed by a closing prayer at 8 p.m. Her interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Lillian May Knapp

HORSEHEADS –  Former Albion resident, Lillian M. Knapp, 90, died June 16, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born August 3, 1931 in Brockport to Francis and Grace Phelps.

Lillian owned her own hair salon in Albion for many years. She loved baking, shopping and taking care of her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, William Lusk.

She is survived by her husband, Edwin Knapp; sister, Claire Graham; children, Karen Mager, Robert Lusk, Lenore Fletcher and Ronald Lusk; step-children, Deborah Shuler, Becky Hessel and Laurie Bower. Lillian was blessed with 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell funeral Homes, 16650 State Route 31, Holley, on Monday, June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. followed by her funeral service at 4 p.m.  Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Memorials may be made to Cleveland Clinic, 9500 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44195.

Kenneth E. Kelley

SHELBY – Kenneth E. Kelley, 76, of Shelby, entered into rest unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Born in Tonawanda, NY on August 21, 1945, Ken was a son of the late Hiram and Rose (Luberacki) Kelley.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1965-1968. Ken married the former Margaret R. Allen on April 4, 1969. He was employed as a service technician at Agway for most of his career and fulfilled many years as a water technician for Darien Lake. He enjoyed volunteering with Tri-Town Ambulance and the American Red Cross. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, the casino, playing euchre, hunting and fishing and in his later years was active with the Senior Citizens Western Orleans and enjoyed playing bingo.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Margaret Kelley of Medina; son, Kevin (Rebecca) Kelley of Florida; two grandchildren, Leo Edward and Avery Lucas Kelley; a brother, Robert (late Rosealee) Kelley; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two brothers, Donald and James Kelley; and sisters, Rosemary Henderson and Leona Carrican.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. Interment with full military honors will be Wednesday, June 22, at 10 a.m. in the Western New York National Cemetery, Corfu.

Luella J. Caleb

MEDINA – Luella J. Caleb, age 92, of Medina entered into rest peacefully on Wednesday, January 5, 2021 at the Orchard Rehab & Nursing Center.

Born on April 1, 1929 in Kent, Luella was the daughter of the late Lawrence Gray, Sr. and Genieve (Erway) Gray. She was a graduate of Medina High School. Born with a strong work ethic, Luella worked various jobs over her life including at the Knowlesville Hotel and Blissett's Specialty Shop in Medina. Later in life she worked as a home health aide for years taking care of many of the elderly in our community, a job she sincerely enjoyed. Luella took care of others up until she herself needed some caring in recent years with the diagnosis of dementia. Throughout life she was always one to help in any way that she could, albeit in her "no-nonsense" approach.  Even when living in the nursing home, Luella would often help the nurses with their daily tasks. Aside from work, Luella was an avid bowler and competed in state-level competitions. She also enjoyed golfing and loved watching the Buffalo Bills. Luella was a proud member of the Mustang Band Boosters and was also a member of the Moose Club.

Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Gail (Thomas) Cook of Arizona and Tina (Rob) Dennis of Medina; six grandchildren, Randy (Shaula) Cook, Amanda (Justin) McMillan, Melissa (Gene) Thompson, Lee Gray, Robert (Kate) Dennis-Pelcher and Nellie (Robert) Herman; great-grandchildren, April and Austin Cook, Abigail and Brayden McMillan, Grant and Stella Thompson, Quinton Dennis-Pelcher, Aurora and Magnolia Herman; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Luella was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence Gray, Jr. and Russell Gray.

Angela (Bookie) McNeil

Angela (Bookie) McNeil, 53 of Albion, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on June 13, 2022.

Angela was born on April 18, 1969, to Charlie Mae McNeil and the late Henry McNeil while living on Conley's Camp. By the time Angela was of school age her family moved to Carlton Manor in Waterport, NY where Angela would begin her school journey at Lyndonville Elementary. A few years later Angela's family would make their final relocation to Albion, NY where she would attend and graduate from Charles D' Amico high school.

Shortly after graduation from high school, Angela went on to become an Assistant Nurse's Aide at the Orleans County Nursing Home. Angela would enjoy working with the elderly so much that she would go on to pursue her Certified Nursing Assistant certification from BOCES and would finish her career at the Orleans County Nursing Home after 25-plus years of service. For Angela, being a CNA was more than just a job, she genuinely enjoyed being a care giver and a listening ear for her patients. Angela absolutely loved her family and friends with all of her heart.

Angela had a heart of gold and was known for always surprising her family and friends with unexpected gifts. Along with Angela's love for people, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, eating, shopping, dancing, and concerts. Angela was truly the life of the party, and her golden heart will be missed by all who know and love her.

In addition to her father, Angela is predeceased by her sister, Marie McNeil; and brother, Kenneth McNeil.

Angela leaves behind to cherish all of her wonderful memories, her loving mother Charlie Mae McNeil (Albion); beautiful children: Latonya Long (Atlanta, GA), Colby Ellis (Albion) and Emmanuel Thompson (Atlanta, GA); grandchild, Jada Long (Atlanta, GA); siblings: Chris McNeil and Penny Blake (both of Albion); uncle, Freddie Gardner (Kent); aunts: Joyce Bedward and Brenda Taylor (both of Albion) along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Gerald J. "Jerry" Mattoon

Gerald J. "Jerry" Mattoon, 90, of Lyndonville, NY, entered into rest on Mon., June 13, 2022 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Born on Nov. 28, 1931 in Avoca, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth O. and Mary (Kleckler) Mattoon.

Gerald grew up in Avoca, NY and on Dec. 2, 1950 he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War with the rank of Corporal. He returned home in 1953 and married the love of his life Rosemary "Peg" Boyce and together made their home in Medina and raising three kids. Gerald retired from Harrison Radiator in 1988. He was an avid handyman willing to do any project or manual labor for family and friends.

Gerald is survived by his children: Michael Mattoon of Oakfield, Caren (Mike) Eckerd of Lyndonville; grandchildren: Debi (Max Metcalf) Mattoon of Oakfield, Damien (Erin) Lawrence of Buffalo, Emily James of Lyndonville, Morgan (Chris) James of Middleport, Haley (Leo) Eckerd of Lyndonville, Kelsey Mattoon of Oswego, Michael (Amanda) Eckerd III of  Albion; great-grandchildren: Ayden, Cameron, Zoey, Brody, Carter, Chase, Serenity, Devin, Nathan, Ava, Braylyn, and Charlotte; sister, Norma Cooper of Avoca; many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and his wife, Gerald is predeceased by brothers: Donald, Erwin, Harold, and Larry Mattoon; and daughter, Denise Lawrence.

Sidney D. "Papa" MacFarland

Sidney D. "Papa" MacFarland, 70, of Medina, NY, went to heaven to be with his wife on Mon., June 13, 2022 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Born on July 11, 1951 in Warsaw, NY, he was the son of the late Douglas and Adeliade (Boillat) MacFarland.

Sidney graduated from Kendall High School and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Rowles on April 29, 1972 and together they raised four children. He worked in the shipping and receiving department at Lightening and Mixing Company of Rochester and later he was employed as a Machine Operator at Saint-Gobain of Albion, retiring in 2015. He loved the outdoors, especially while kayaking and going on trips to the casino, getting coffee at Tim Hortons, or having breakfast at the Village House.

Sidney is survived by his children: Brian (Jennifer) MacFarland of Albion, Tracy MacFarland of Knowlesville, Mindy (Anthony) Spencer of Medina, and Jill MacFarland of Albion; grandchildren: Kala, Hailey, Sydney, Cyrus, Brianna and Bryson; great-grandchildren: Grayson Seever, Mason Seever and Aurora MacFarland; siblings: Douglas (Indda) MacFarland of Albion, NY, Raymond (Pat) MacFarland, Timothy (Carol) MacFarland, all of Kendall; many nieces and nephews; and his good friends, John and Katie Brown.

Besides his parents and wife, he is predeceased by a brother, Steven MacFarland.

Samuel Lattin Morrison

Samuel Lattin Morrison went home to be with our Lord on Aug. 2, 2018. He was born on June 11, 1945. Mr. Morrison was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force from 1963-1966. He worked as a truck driver for many years and also worked for Kirby's Farm in Albion.

Mr. Morrison was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Virginia Morrison; brother, James Morrison; sisters, Vann Hess and Margaret Morrison; his son, William Leslie Sauls; and wife, Vicky Morrison.

He is survived by his children: Gloria (Lee) Dollar of Florida, Christy (James) Dunn of Albion, Frank Morrison of Greece, Herbie Morrison of Florida, Marjorie (James) Cassett, Kay (Rodney) Ward both of Medina, Crista (Jay Silva) Mest of Lyndonville, Roger (Sabrina) Kugler of Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Doris E. Germeo

Doris E. Germeo, 85, of Clarendon died June 14, 2022 in her residence while under the care of Supportive Care of Orleans.

She was born Sept. 8, 1936 in Albion to Leon and Arleta Baldwin and was a life-long resident of this area. Doris Loved to travel, enjoyed working with and growing flowers and loved her dog, Rex. Her greatest enjoyment came from loving her great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Clifford; son, Gary Germeo of Clarendon; daughters: Terry (Gary) Gilman of Albion, Karen Gerringer of Holley; grandchildren: Kristen, Laura, Steven, Thomas; as well as 9 great-grandchildren.

Patricia "Pat" Hauer

Patricia "Pat" Hauer, 88, of Albion passed away peacefully at her home in Carlton, NY on 11 June 2022.

She was born on 26 Sept. 1933 to Herbert and Mary Gress in Rochester, NY.  She graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School, Rochester in 1953.  Pat and her husband Joseph (pre-deceased) moved to Carlton in the late 1960s and raised their family on a small country farm.  Pat was an avid gardener and loved to watch nature as she tended her gardens.

She was a member of the Gaines Congregational Church and Home Bureau.  She loved to bake, walk, read history, and to visit with friends and family.  She believed "everything should come from the heart."  Pat was deeply loved and will be sadly missed.

Pat is survived by her sons: Joseph (Valerie), Jason (Tracy) and Joel;  daughters: Jacqueline and Jennifer; as well as ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Dorinne M. Prest

Dorinne M. Prest, 85 of Medina, NY, passed away on Monday Morning, May 16, 2022 at the Supportive Care of Orleans, Albion, NY.

Born on Nov. 27, 1936 in Medina, NY, she was the daughter of the late Redvers and Leona (Falls) Luxon.

Dorinne grew up in Medina and married the late Kenneth Prest on March 25, 1967 and together they raised five children. At one time she worked for the former Acme and retired in 2011. In her spare time she liked to crochet and work in her flower garden and walking her puppy "Jack."

She is survived by her children: Raymond (Kim) Cogovan of Medina, Judy (Michael) Szulis of Medina, Pamela (Jerry) Gray of Clarence Center, David (Tiffany) Cogovan of Pittsburgh, PA, Shawn (Michaelene) Prest of Medina; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Crystal) Luxon of Basom; sister-in-law, Beverly (Francis) Woodward of Medina; and are several nieces and nephews.

Dolores M. Flowers

Dolores M. Flowers, 78, of Gasport died June 12, 2022, in Buffalo General Hospital following a short illness.  She was born July 2, 1943, in Medina, a daughter of J. Webster and Loraine (Moltrup) Culver, and was a life-long resident of this area.

Dolores was a faithful member of the Covenant United Church of Christ in Gasport, and was also a member of the Middleport Library Guild.  She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, antiquing and especially going to flea markets.  Mrs. Flowers was predeceased by her sister: Barbara Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 50+ years James; brother, David Culver; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport, Wed., June 22 from 4-7pm where her funeral service will be held immediately following visitation at 7pm. Private interment in Hartland Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.

Sandra A. Tauschek

Sandra A. Tauschek of Spencerport, NY, beloved mom, sister, grandma, GG and loyal friend, passed away on Sun., June 5, 2022. Predeceased by her brothers: Jon, James (Butch), and Gerry Welles; mother, Ethel Finucane Welles; father, G. Richard Welles.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Lanni (Pat Dishaw); son, Joe Tauschek Jr., grandchildren Priscilla Gramiak (Tyler Aina), Val Gramiak (Jon Luisi); sisters: Susan (Robert) Reis, Deborah Welles, Judith (David) Mazerbo; brother, Dennis (Teresa) Welles; "brother" Dave (Joanne) Bennage; great-grandchildren: Carly and Lyra Aina, twin Aina girls due this summer; many nephews, nieces, cousins; beloved dog/companion Jules; and many lifelong friends. Sandy was the epitome of strength and compassion and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Michael R. Dydo

Michael R. Dydo, 90, entered into rest peacefully on Fri., June 3, 2022 in his home.

Born Nov. 8, 1931 in Alden Station, Pennsylvania, Michael was the son of the late Michael A. and Helen (Prymas) Dydo. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1949. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 to serve his country during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. Upon returning home, Mike graduated from Wilkes University earning his B.S. Business Education and while there, was very active in sports. He was a four-year letter winner in baseball and football, selected as captain of each, and was the Secretary of The Letterman's Club. Along with earning Player of The Year for baseball in 1959, he was also named the Beacon Athlete of the Year, received the Joseph Gallagher Award, and the Howard Davis Trophy for all around excellence in sports. In 2003, he was inducted into the Wilkes University Sports Hall of Fame.

Mr. Dydo taught briefly at Medina High School, but returned to Wilkes University when asked to teach and coach both football and baseball. He subsequently returned to the Medina area where Mr. Dydo worked as an English Teacher for Kendall Central School District for many years, retiring in 1988. Early in his career, he completed graduate work at State University of Brockport and University of Buffalo. While at Kendall, he contributed in many ways including Treasurer of the Kendall Faculty Association, English Department Chairman, Negotiations Committee – Kendall Faculty Association, and administered the VFW Award Citation – Voice of Democracy Program. He coached the Kendall Jr. High Basketball team and the Kendall Varsity Baseball team. During his summers off, Mr. Dydo worked with other Medina area teachers painting houses. He enjoyed playing semi-pro baseball, softball, umpiring, bowling, golfing, and gardening.  Mr. Dydo loved books and was a voracious reader who frequented the Lee-Whedon Library every two weeks. He believed "If you can read, you can do anything."

For many years, Mike was active within the Medina First Baptist Church volunteering as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent, Christian Education Board member, Finance Committee member, Financial Secretary, and Moderator.

While Mike had a lot of energy for the church and sports, his main priority was his family and his home. He and his wife, Susan, the love of his life, were married on Aug. 26, 1961 and raised a family of three children. He was an incredibly supportive husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his family dearly and was always present for the family no matter what the family needed.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 60 years, Susan B. Dydo of Medina; children: Michael (Becky) Dydo of Orlando, FL, Kate (Amy Forbush) Dydo of Indianapolis, IN, and Jenn (David) Dydo-Spencer of Dublin, CA; grandchildren: Jonathan and Samantha Dydo, Geoffrey (Catherine) Eaton, Joseph (Cari) Eaton, and Miles Eaton, Zachary (Marijane) Spencer, Lea Spencer and Alexa Spencer; great-grandchildren: Theodore and Alexander Eaton; sister, Henrietta Atkins; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sister, Irene Popeck and brother in-law, Clem Atkins.

Sandra L. Schening

Sandra L. Schening, passed away on Sat., June 4, 2022 at Unity Hospital in Rochester.

Born Feb. 11, 1946 in Medina, she was one of eleven children to the late Freeman and Alice (Dale) Livingston. She married Paul W. Schening, Sr. on Dec. 7, 1963. The couple settled in East Shelby and raised a family of four children. Sandra was a homemaker most of her life. In 2001 she and her husband moved to Tennessee. She worked in the bakery at Walmart in Kimball, Tennessee and Paul drove truck for Path Trucking. Five years ago they moved back to the area until her passing. Sandra enjoyed spending time with her family and especially loved her grandchildren.

She is also survived by her siblings: Pat (late Carl) Toeniessen, June (late Floyd) Seaman, Hariett (late Larry) Petrie, Carol (late John) Tomasula, Cecil (Lynn) Livingston and Anna Livingston; several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by four siblings: Ruth and John Livingston, Dolores Luebke and Liz Schultz.

Family and friends are welcome to a Celebration of Life service on Sat., June 11 at 1:30 pm at the East Shelby Community Bible Church, 5278 East Shelby Rd., Medina. A private graveside committal service will be held in Millville Cemetery.

Paul Raymond Wood

Paul Raymond Wood, 90, of Holley, NY passed away on Thu., June 2, 2022 after a short illness.

Paul was born Oct. 22, 1931, to the late Raymond and Lillian Wood (Doane). He grew up in Rochester, NY before joining the Navy in 1952. He was in active duty as an aircraft mechanic onboard the USS Oriskany (CV/CVA-34) and was honorably discharged in 1956. After the Navy, he joined Eastman Kodak where he worked until 1986 and retired after 35 years. In retirement, Paul loved to transform the woods on his property into a park-like setting. He enjoyed woodworking, making numerous toys for his grandchildren and various cabinetry and furniture for the house. He was an avid lake trout fisherman on Keuka Lake where he owned a lake house in Hammondsport, NY. Many wonderful family vacations and memories were created on Keuka Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia; children: Tammy Wood, Timothy (Sandra) Wood, and Sherry Wood; grandchildren: Andrew, Sara (Seth), TJ, Monique, Brandon, and Aaliyah; great-grandchildren: Millie and Maelani. Thank you to Tom and Kathleen Bates for always being there for us and special niece, Sandy Thomas, for the many breakfasts and baked goods.

A graveside memorial service will be held on June 10, 11 am, at Mount Albion Cemetery at the VA companion section.

Derek Sevor

Derek Sevor, 35, of Holley passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2022. He was born Oct. 16, 1986 in Brockport to David and Terri Sevor.

Derek could brighten up any room, the loudest and funniest guy there. He had great stories and would often break the awkward silence with a quick joke. Music was such an important part of his life and he could find the perfect song for any occasion. Derek was an avid Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres fan, attending games frequently with his friends. His favorite time was with his wife and family, especially his two children, Charlotte and Sullivan.

Derek was predeceased by his uncle, Tim Adams; mother-in-law, Penthea Curtis; maternal grandfather, Brian Adams; and grandfather-in-law, Herbert Merkley.

Derek is survived by his wife of 7 years, Cortney; children: Charlotte and Sullivan; parents, David and Terri Sevor; siblings: Jarod (Katie Moore) Sevor, Taylor (Justin) Black; maternal grandmother, Judith (Don) Badger; paternal grandparents, Louis and Gail Sevor; father-in-law, George (Annette) Curtis, sisters-in-law: Jen Curtis, Sara Cinotti; brother-in-law, George Curtis Jr.; grandparents-in-law, Judith and George Curtis and Dora Merkley; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

James Miles

On Sat., June 4, 2022, James Miles, loving husband and father of five children, passed away at the age of 74.

Jim was born on Sept. 5, 1947, in Medina NY, to Paul and Ruth (Ernst) Miles.

He graduated from Medina High School in the class of 1965, and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of Buffalo in 1970.  He went on to practice pharmacy and became an owner of Rosenkrans Pharmacy, where he worked for 46 years. On Aug. 30, 1969 he married the love of his life, Catharine Ann Messner.

Jim was a passionate servant leader that embodied the greatest commandment: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and love your neighbor as yourself" (Luke 10:27). He was an Eagle Scout and valued his years of scouting. He received a citizenship award from Orleans County for his work with youth and a Distinguished Citizen award in 2013 from the Iroquois Trail Council. He embodied warmth, caring, and love. He and Cathy opened their house and hosted several AFS students, each time, adding another son to their family. His wit was second to none. Whether you just met for the first time, or knew him for a lifetime, he was sure to put a smile on your face. He loved golfing, camping, and leading boy scouts; most of all he loved his God and spending time with his wife, his sons and his family.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Paul, mother, Ruth, and brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife Catharine; five children: Peter (Janel), Mark (Melissa), Joseph (Elizabeth), Daniel (Kristan), and Richard (Scarlett); 14 grandchildren; brother, Thomas (Barbara); sister, Sue (Walter); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Fri., June 10, 2022 at the Lyndonville United Methodist Church, 102 N. Main St, Lyndonville NY. Calling hours begin at 10 am and the funeral begins at 11 am.

Janice Lorback

BROCKPORT – Janice M. (VanDetta) Lorback, 81, passed away June 5, 2022. She was born December 8, 1940 in Medina, a daughter of the late George and Marion (Cassidy) VanDetta and had lived in this area all of her life.

Janice loved crocheting afghans for friends and family and loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her long-time loving companion Roger Lettis; brothers Peter VanDetta, Anthony VanDetta and George VanDetta; twin sister Judy Rutherford; and sisters Pat Swanger, Catherine VanDetta.

Janice is survived by her children Marianne Licorish, James Lorback and Jeffrey Lorback; grandchildren Eric Lorback, Anthony Licorish, Victoria Licorish, Ahmyah Lorback; great-granddaughter Lillianna Lorback; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family will receive friends at the Christopher Mitchell Funeral Homes, Inc. 16650 State Rte. 31 Holley on Wednesday, June 8^th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. where her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Stephen A. Smith

MIDDLEPORT – Stephen A. Smith, 69, of Middleport passed away at home June 4, 2022 after a short illness. He was born January 19, 1953 to William and Margaret (Quinn) Smith.

Steve worked at Fisher Price for 24 years and retired from the Village of Middleport Department of Public Works in 2015. He was a member of the Middleport Volunteer Fire Department for the past 45 years and was a Past Chief.

Steve enjoyed going to the casino and spending time with his family, especially his boys.

Steve is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathryn (Schaal) Smith; son, Stephen (Trisha) Smith; daughter, Audra (John Garbutt) Smith; grandson, Chad (Amanda) Smith and great-grand babies, Mason, Maverick and Milo Smith; honorary children, David and Deborah Manna and family; siblings, Margaret Acara, Francis (Judy) Smith, Dennis (Shirley) Smith, William (Kathie) Smith, Teresa (Michael) Carpp and Ann Groell; in-laws, Alda Smith, Peggy Smith, Sharon Smith, James Lowe, David (Nancy) Schaal, Renee Jahnke, Stephen (Candy) Schaal, Marc (Jackie) Schaal, Kris (Walter) Leonard, and Kelly (Mary) Schaal; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret (Quinn) Smith, Kenneth and Ada Schaal; his siblings, Mary Ellen DePasquale, Charles Smith, Bredget Smith, Leo Smith, Patrick Smith, Elizabeth Lowe, Kenneth and Angie Schaal and James Jahnke.
